Tecno Mobile has added to its ever growing port-folio of smartphones as it releases the Tecno Spark 2 and Spark 2 Pro into the Nigerian market. The Tecno Spark 2 is the successor to last year's widely successful Tecno Spark (Tecno K7) and it looks to cement its position as the go-to device for photo lovers on a budget. Design and Display
The Tecno Spark 2 keeps it really simply in the design department. The device comes in a sleek unibody that is curved at the edges and sides to enable it sit well in your palms. Around the back of the Tecno Spark 2 is the conveniently placed fingerprint scanner, the camera sensor with a little bump, and the LED flash right below it. Turning the phone over, you are greeted by the Full View 18:9 display for more immersive experience.
The huge 6.0-inch display on the Tecno Spark 2 comes with a HD+ resolution at 1440 x 720p, and packs a pixel density of around 300ppi. This display is really impressive on paper considering that the Spark 2 is a budget-friendly device, and should provide you with a great viewing experience, be it consuming multimedia contents or reading texts.
Camera, Performance & Storage
The Tecno Spark line of smartphones are built to appeal to photo lovers and the Tecno Spark 2 is no different. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera which is backed by an LED flash for low-light shots. The camera, which comes with modes like Beautify, Scene selection and more, is capable of shooting Full HD videos of 1080p at 30 frames-per-second. For selfies, you get an 8-megapixel sensor with flash.
Performance-wise, the Tecno Spark 2 is pretty basic. A quad-core MediaTek MT6580W processor, that is built on a 32-bit architecture and clocked at 1.3 GHz is what powers the device, and it is coupled with 1 GB of RAM.
The Mali-400MP2 GPU assists with graphics operations and you get 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded with up to 128 GB via memory card. The Tecno Spark 2 boots on the new Android 8.0 Oreo (Go Edition) that boosts more power efficiency among other great features.
Battery and Other features
The Tecno Spark 2 gets a boost in the battery department. It houses a fairly generous 3,500mAh battery unit that should provide enough juice for at least a day.
It offers a wide range of connectivity options which includes support for dual SIM and super fast 4G LTE internet connection, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, Wi-fi, Wi-fi hotspot and more. The Tecno Spark 2 also comes with a variety of security options, with the most notable being the FaceID and a fingerprint sensor.

The Tecno Spark 2 has been launched in Nigeria and is currently available on Jumia Nigeria., and Tecno retail outlets across the country. The price of the Tecno Spark 2 in Nigeria ranges between 30,000 naira to 40,000 naira depending on your location.
Alternative Smartphones to Tecno Spark 2
The Camon X and Camon X Pro are smartphones that centers around the camera experience which you should consider if you want to go a little above your budget.
You can also check out other budget phones like the Tecno F3, Tecno F2 and Tecno F1 which all sell at a much lower price tag. The Itel A32F is also a nice cheap smartphone that boots on Android Oreo and even sports a fingerprint scanner at a much lower price range. Elsewhere is the Oukitel C8 which offers more power and sells at a lower price too.
