Scientists record major breakthrough on LiFi, a network 100X faster than WiFi



Chinese scientists have just recorded a major breakthrough on LiFi, short for Light Fidelity, which may see a shift away from the traditional WiFi currently invoke. LiFi is a wireless optical network technology that uses Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) (like the LED bulbs in our households) for performing data transfers.

Tizeti, Nigerian Wifi Provider secures $2.1 million seed funding.


Tizeti, a tech startup in Nigeria, has secured  a $2.1 million seed funding from international investors. These investors include Western Technology Investment, Social Capital, Vy Capital, Picus Capital, Ace & Company, Lynett Capital Partners, Zeno Ventures and a number of angel investors including Y Combinator’s Michael Seibel and Gabriel Hammond.

Kenya ranks top in Africa for fastest mobile internet speed


Kenya, according to a new report, is the country with the fastest mobile internet speed in Africa. The State of the Internet Report for first quarter, 2017 by Akamai, suggested so after collating, sampling and analysing data from more than 108 countries.
