Union Bank and Co-Creation Hub partner to launce Innovation Challenge


Union Bank of Nigeria (Union Bank) Plc announced the launch of its Centenary Innovation Challenge during the recent occasion that saw the bank celebrating its 100 years of heritage & service. 

The challenge which is powered by Lagos-based accelerator and incubator Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), is aimed at finding and supporting great ideas that address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in entrepreneurial ways.
The challenge seeks innovative ideas to address the biggest problems affecting how people live, work, socialise and do business in Nigeria, particularly those that improve financial inclusion, agriculture and education of Nigerians.
Three winners will be selected, following the applications, idea sprint, pitch preparation and pitch session phase. 
Winners will be rewarded with cash prizes and further incubation support at the Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) with full engagement with Union Bank.
In a statement posted by the bank, “The innovation challenge will engage eligible young and talented people across Nigeria to submit novel ideas to specific problem areas or thematic issues of interest to Union Bank,”
It added, “We will encourage applicants to propose innovative ideas that solve fundamental social and commercial challenges faced by Nigerians in a range of sectors starting in one community but potentially scalable across the nation.”
The Centenary Innovation challenge is open to university students, software developers, academics and entrepreneurs across the country.
 Applications with close on 19 May 2017. The winners will be announced some time in June 2017 and incubated till December 2017.
