The Tecno Pouvoir 1 is a streamlined and cheaper model of the Tecno Pouvoir 2. The budget smartphone from Tecno Mobile comes with a modest specs sheet but also retains the unique feature of the former, which is a long-lasting 5,000 mAh battery. It is smaller in size and a bit thicker when compared to the aforementioned smartphone but the design aesthetics remain similar overall.

Design and Display

The Tecno Pouvoir 1, as a cheap smartphone that it is, is not the most attractive smartphone out there, but it's certainly not the ugliest. Design-wise, It is mostly plain on the back with no fingerprint scanner in sight, while the regular 16:9 display upfront manages to keep the bezels minimal. The sides of the Pouvoir 1 is also slightly curved to enable it rest well in your palms and pocket. Pouvoir 1 comes in four colours this time; Champagne, Black, Green, Blue.

The display on the Tecno Pouvoir 1 is quite impressive for a budget phone. It is rocking an HD screen with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, at a pixel density of 267 ppi , and it measures 5.5-inches diagonally.

Camera, Performance & Storage

The camera setup on the Tecno Pouvoir 1 will shoot fairly decent photos and videos at best. An 8-megapixel primary camera is what is on the back and it is aided by a dual-LED flash for low-light shots. This sensor is capable of shooting 720p videos at 30 frames-per-second. On the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera, with a LED flash as well. As earlier emphasized, don't expect to take mind-blowing photos or videos with these cameras.

You get a downgrade to a conventional quad-core Meditek processor on the Tecno Pouvoir 1. The MT6580 CPU is backed by 1 GB of RAM, and a basic Mali-T400 GPU for graphics. 16 GB of internal storage is what is on board, and it can be expanded with up to a 32 GB memory card. The Tecno Pouvoir 1 runs on the older Android 7.0 Nougat with Tecno's own user interface on top.

Battery and Other features

The Chinese OEM decide to stick with the same battery capacity as the former here, and that means a 5,000 mAh juicer on the Tecno Pouvoir 1. The battery is tipped to last up to 2 days with normal usage before a recharge is required via the Micro USB 2.0 slot.

The Tecno Pouvoir 1 supports dual SIM and super fast 4G LTE internet connection. Other connectivity features on the Pouvoir 1 are Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, Wi-fi, Wi-fi hotspot and more.

You can check out other budget phones like the Tecno F3, Tecno F2 and Tecno F1 which all sell at a much lower price tag. The Itel A32F is also a nice cheap smartphone that boots on Android Oreo and even sports a fingerprint scanner at a much lower price range.
