The navigation bar now gets an icon to the left that lets you auto-hide the nav keys when you are in an app, allowing you take full advantage of the 18.5:9 panel. With a quick tap, you can toggle between automatically hiding or displaying the navigation bar.

If you are not cool with the auto-hide feature, you can completely disable it from the setting by going to Settings > Display > Navigation bar > Show and hide button.
Samsung has also limited the colour options that can be used as the navigation bar's background. You now get just seven set of light colours, as opposed to the previous RGB scale customization, with no extra tweaking to your taste. The black navigation bar option is now gone with the new update.

The update also makes it easier to use apps in fullscreen mode. You now get a button that is just above the navigation bar which allows you go fullscreen mode for apps that don't support the Galaxy S8's native 18.5:9 resolution. The prompt has the self-explanatory label, "Tap here to fill entire screen." Once you hit the button, the app will restart and launch in fullscreen mode.
I'm still oblivious as to why Samsung decided to get rid of the black nav bar but my guess is, it is due to the burn-in issues on AMOLED display panels. Maybe we will see it back in the next update. If you don't like the default navigation keys, there is a way to the Pixel style navigation keys.
The update is 454.18MB in size, and is now rolling out in India. It should be available in other markets in the coming days.
