Evan Blass (@evleaks) first treated us to a photo of the new full frontal display Blackberry phone from TCL (makers of Blackberry phones) - the Blackberry Motion, which was dubbed 'Krypton' before the revelation. And now, Blackberry has made it official.
The Blackberry Motion was unveiled at the ongoing GITEX event in Dubai, UAE and most of what was rumoured to come with the new Android smartphone are correct.
First off is the most obvious change that sets it apart from the Blackberry KEYone; the removal of the traditional physical QWERTY keyboard and its replacement with a full front display. The 5.5 Premium Anti-scratch display has a Full-HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Blackberry Motion also boasts of a premium build, with a a hardened aluminum frame and soft textured material on the back which should help provide more ease when it comes to handling.

The Blackberry motion is rocking a 4,000mAh battery and is IP67 certified. This means it can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30mins and it will still pick itself up like a champ. Although there was no mention of the processing power built into this phone, it is assumed that it will be powered by the previously rumoured Snapdragon 625 chipset.
This means the Motion's octa-core CPU will be supported by Andreno 504 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The Motion, however, runs on Android 7.1 Nougat which is a little disappointing because Android 8.0 Oreo has been out for quite sometime now. But not to worry though as the device will get the upgrade to Oreo in 2018.

However, the Blackberry Motion debuts a new feature, known as Locker, that will also come to all Blackberry branded phones. Users will be able to store documents and photos in an internal storage area that will require the user's PIN code or fingerprint to access.
The Blackberry Motion will launch first in Dubai and Saudi Arabia this month before heading to other "selected global market" also later this month. The handset is priced at Dh1,699 in the UAE. That is equivalent to $463 USD. In Saudi Arabia, the Motion can be purchased for 1,699 Riyal.
It should start at a price of about N168,000 when it is available in Nigeria.
