Instagram is doing more to keep offensive followers off your feeds by adding a new feature dubbed "mute." This is a new option added to the menu that, when selected, will let you hide posts from followers you don't want to see without having to unfollow them.
The new app which Instagram is billing "a new way to personalize your feed," is similar to what Facebook and Twitter offers currently, in which you can unsubscribe from certain users' post for years without cutting them off completely.
To access the mute feature, tap on the three-dot at the top right of a users post or profile. You can mute posts, stories, or both, depending on which one you don't care to see. The mute feature can also be reversed.
Instagram already has a feature since last year, which lets you disable comments in you comment box - check out Wizkid's IG account to see first hand. The photo-sharing platform had also introduced some neat features earlier this month to address trolling and cyber bullying.
This feature will no doubt keep unhealthy and annoying posts away from your sight, especially with trolls, when they try to get in the way of your vibes with their negative energy. I'm sure most of you guys are already making a list of your 'frenemies'. Lol! No fake love!
