September has come and gone and I must say it was one of the busiest months in the smartphones industry. Several smartphones were launched, some went on sale globally, while other upcoming smartphones, like the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Huawei Mate 10 and Nokia 9 pulled a fair share in the rumour mills.
In this post, I have compiled ten of the top smartphones released in the month of September, 2017 based on specs, price point, and value. So, lets go through all of them one after the other, shall we?!
1. Samsung Galaxy Note 8
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is among the best smartphones that became available to the market in the month of September, 2017 and I might as well say it will be one of the best phones of 2017, if not the best. The Galaxy Note 8 is the first smartphone from the South Korean tech giant to feature dual-cameras (dual 12 megapixel cameras) and a whopping 6 GB of RAM. It sports a large 6.3-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2960 pixels) SuperAMOLED bezel-less display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has an Iris scanner that serves as an added security option when unlocking the device.
The Galaxy Note 8 runs on the best processing power around, thanks to the Octa-core Snapdragon 835, and paired with an Adreno 540 GPU (Exynos 8895, Mali-G71 MP20 GPU for the International version) and a 64GB storage option that can be expanded via microSD up to 256GB. The battery unit on the Note 8 is a 3,300mAh battery and the phone ships with extras talking about the S-pen stylus and the IP68 certification for water and dust proofing. LG V30 is the best smartphone from the tech powerhouse and is certainly a strong contender for the best smartphone of 2017. Built with photography and videography enthusiasts in mind, the V30 packs dual 16MP + 13MP rear cameras with outstanding features specifically when it comes to video recording. 3. iPhone X
Apple released the iPhone X (pronounced iPhone Ten) to mark its 10th anniversary, along side the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Much of the talk on this phone centres around the display and the new FaceID. It is the first smartphone from Apple to sport a all-screen AMOLED display, which lead to Apple removing the only physical button on the front.
This also meant the exclusion of a fingerprint reader on the iPhone, which also lead to another first-of-its-kind implementation on the iPhone, talking about the FaceID ( a new unlocking mode achieved with a an infrared sensor on the front that reads your face).
Other additions include a new chipset, dual rear cameras, body made of glass to help the iPhone X support Qi wireless charging, and a new portrait lighting mode in the camera department. 4. Infinix Note 4 Pro
The Infinix Note 4 Pro was launched together with the Infinix Note 4 (that received mixed reviews in terms of the upgrades from last years Note 3), but wasn't available until September, 2017. As the Pro suggest, It comes with upgrades in almost every aspect. The Infinix Note 4 Pro sports a metallic body and a better design compared to the Note 4's plastic body. It also has upgraded cameras, a bigger 4,500mAh battery with Quick charge feature, improved RAM (3GB) and a better display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
The most notable addition on the Note 4 Pro is the new "X-pen" stylus that is meant for professionals and people who take a lot of notes. 5. iPhone 8
Apple's iPhone 8 is one of the best phones released in September. Though, the design aesthetics looks a lot like last year's iPhone 7, the phones comes with a bevy of upgrades over its predecessor. The iPhone 8 now sports glass on the back and front, with an aluminum frame. The addition of the glass means the iPhone 8 now supports Qi wireless charging.

6. Nokia 8
HMD Global, makers of the new Nokia smartphones made a statement back in August with the announcement of its flagship smartphone; The Nokia 8. The Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 were received with great optimism and they all got positive reviews, and HMD decided to crown that success with the Nokia 8. The device's selling point is its camera, as it packs dual 13MP sensors on the back, and a 13MP selfie camera with a 'bothie camera' feature to help target photo lovers.

7. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is the successor to last year's Mi Mix, which was tagged the smartphone with 'true bezel-less display'. Fast forward to 2017, the Mi Mix 2 has been refined in design and build as it now sports a body made of ceramics and aluminum. The display, compared to the one on the Mi Mix, has been refined as well, with little bezels along the top and edges to accommodate the 5.99-inches display.

8. iPhone 8 Plus
The iPhone 8 Plus brings with it a little edge over the iPhone 8. The two obvious changes here are the display and camera, with the 8 Plus's display coming in at 5.5-inches with more resolution and sharpness. The camera on the back is a dual 12MP sensor with improved optics.
