If you haven't seen or heard about the Samsung Galaxy S8 before then someone walks up to you with Oukitel K5000 in hand and swears that it is the Galaxy S8,.. believe me you will agree, except you notice the Oukitel branding on it.
The Oukitel K5000 is the Chinese OEM's upcoming smartphone and it will be the third phone in their portfolio to pack the 18:9 edge-to-edge touchscreen, after the Oukitel Mix 2 and the Oukitel C8. The phone, from the front, looks completely like the Galaxy S8, with the rounded corners and the 2.5D glass protecting the display.
The 5.7-inch HD+ LCD touchscreen on the K5000, coming in at 720 x 1440, sort of melts with the sides, eliminating the side bezels completely. Oh, and the company is calling it the Infinity Display, just like Samsung did.
The K5000 also comes with an impressive build, with metal on the sides and a back made of soft textured material to improve handling. The back cover also has a 3D curve that just forms a unibody body look on the K5000.
Another bragging rights the K5000 has is its cameras. At the back is a 16-megapixel sensor while the selfie camera gets a massive 21-megapixel. This one is certainly built with photographers and videographers in mind. The phablet also packs a massive 5,000mAh battery which Oukitel claims is the first in a smartphone with the edge-to-edge display.
No pricing details for Oukitel K5000 yet. Meanwhile, Oukitel is also planning to release the Oukitel Mix 2 by the end of the month so stay tuned to get more updates on both phones .
