Gionee is looking to join the trend of bezel-less, edge-to-edge display as it teases a phone on its Weibo account believed to be the upcoming Gionee M7. A mystery phone –with the model number SW17W08 – from the company had previously been spotted on GFXBench and this new image now gives a clearer picture of what to expect.
Gionee is said to be teaming up with Ofo, a bike-sharing startup from Beijing, for the unveiling of the Gionee M7. Even though there is no sign of a camera setup on the purported phone itself, the two wheels in the photo seems to suggest that the Gionee M7 will come with a dual camera setup.
According to the benchmarked phone, the Gionee M7 might feature a 6” screen with 18:9 aspect ratio at a resolution of 1440 by 720 pixels. It will run on a MediaTek MT6757CD chipset with 2.6 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali T880 GPU. The RAM will be 4 GB and storage 64 gigs, while there will be a 5 megapixel selfie shooter. The phone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. But we can't really confirm all this specifications until Gionee announces an official launch date for the phone.
