HBO has released the number of viewers that tuned in to watch the Season 7 finale of Game of Thrones and it turned out to be the most watched episode in the history of the show.
According to HBO, a whooping 12.1 million viewers watched the live broadcast of the 'The Dragon and The Wolf' on Sunday. These numbers don't include viewers who watched the show online or via HBO Go which surged the numbers up to 16.5 million.
With this new record, Game of Thrones have succeeded in breaking the record it has previously held four times. This also makes the Season Finale of Game of Thrones the most watched episode of any series.
While we wait for the premiere of the eight and final season of the show, which according to reports, would hit our screens by 2019, there is no doubt that we have enjoyed another epic season of probably the best TV series out there.
