Tecno, a company owned by Transsion Holdings is making this announcement after its sister company, Infinix rolled out a couple of updates. Tecno, Infinix and Itel are all owned by Transsion Holdings.
However, we think this is coming due to the recent development at Google. Google has promised to roll out "Project Treble". This would help smartphone manufacturers release updates quickly to their devices without having to wait for almost 6 months.
We can't tell how soon the updates will come but as mentioned in the post, Tecno is "on top of the matter". We hope Itel will follow in Infinix and Tecno footsteps.
