Facebook is arguably the most visited social media platform. The company, founded in February 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO), has risen to the top of the charts and is the most widely used social network across the globe.
In a Facebook post shared by Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, he wrote "As of this morning, the Facebook community is now officially 2 billion people! We're making progress connecting the world, and now let's bring the world closer together,"
The company also announced the changing of its mission statement last week. Facebook now wants to "bring the world closer together." The social network has gone from 1 billion users to 2 billion monthly users in less than five years.
