5 simple ways to Fix Slow Charging on your Smartphone

Our smartphones have become our true companions. From connecting with friends and family on social media, to sourcing for information or just chilling with multimedia contents, it is hard to see why we can't label them our 'true companion'.

That is why we always need our phones to be On, 24/7, so as not to miss out on any of the aforementioned stuff.

Sometimes you phone might take over 4hrs to get to 100%, which is not ideal. There are a couple of issues that might be causing your device to charge very slow and here are a few steps you can take to change that.

How to Fix Slow Charging.

  • Replace The Charging Cable: In most cases, the USB cable attached to the charging brick is the guilty party. These cables lose their effectiveness overtime, which in turn, tends to provide less current to charge the youe smartphone or gadget. So, try to get a new micro USB cable or get the one that is being utilized on other gadget.
  • Switch to Airplane Mode: When you switch to Airplane mode on you device while charging, it tends to charge faster. The only drawback here is that you can't place/receive calls during the charging period.

  • Keep Off the Phone while Charging: In case you don't know, using your cell phone while charging affects the battery life. t puts battery under substantial load and make the phone/gadget warm up. You should close every app that is running and also put off WiFi, Bluetooth, Auto-sync and GPS
  • Avoid Charging your Smartphone with Powerbanks, Laptops or PC: You have to know that USB ports on PCs are designed for exchanging information/date. What this means, is that they don't supply sufficient current for your gadget to charge. Thus, you get moderate charging. Perhaps, it even reduces the efficiency your laptop battery overtime.
But if you don't have any other choice, you can utilize the USB 3.0 port on your PC.  *I am guilty of this at times* 🙈

  • Finally, Replace Your Battery: If your smartphone is over a year old, and it is taking you over 3hrs to charge with just around 5hrs of usage, then you should get a replacement ASAP!
