Android creator Andy Rubin releases Essential Phone

The co-creator of Google's Android software, Andy Rubin has, yesterday launched his new high-end smartphone 'The Essential Phone' and we're in love with it already!😍

The phone comes with a unique build; A body made from ceramics with a titanium frame which looks super fine and classy.

It spots a unique 5.71-inch display, with a 19:10 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1312 pixel resolution which is almost Quad HD and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass  5

When it comes to performance, you really don't have to worry as this phone is launching with the latest chips available on the market. Inside the Essential Phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU, 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of internal storage space.

There’s an 8 MP front-facing camera which can record 4K videos and on the back is a dual 13 MP camera setup with f/1.85 which can also shoot 4K videos. The camera will also come with what is called a modular functionality which allows for external accessories to be attached to it via metal pins placed to its right. Two accessories will come with it at launch:   a 360-degree camera — capable of shooting UHD (3840 x 1920) video at 30fps — and a charging dock. Cool right!

The Essential Phone is fitted with a 3,040 mAh battery unit which is modest for a device with such beefy specs.

In addition, the handset will feature USB Type-C and will launch with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with NFC capabilities. It should be noted that the device won't come with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. 😭😭

It comes in four colours: Black Moon, Stellar Grey, Pure White and Ocean Depths. The phone will cost about  $700.
