Andela, a startup that trains software developers, has announced the launch of its operations in Kampala, Uganda making it the third country in Africa.
The company which was co-founded by Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and Jeremy Johnson back in 2014, trains software developers and place them in partner companies across the world to work and earn some money, while also learning on the job.
After recording enormous growth and success is the past few years from operations in Nigeria and Kenya, the startup has expanded to Uganda in a bid to train software developers and attach them to partner companies as it is known for.
Uganda, according to reports, became a place of interest for Andela as a result of its young population – 70% are below the age of 25 – as well as other metrics such as ICT prevalence and quality.
The company, in a post stated;
“Andela sees this as an opportunity to equip the next generation of technologist and innovators in Kampala with the expertise they need to accelerate the advancement of their communities through technology,”

The startup is now located in three countries across the continent which includes Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda.
