We've seen smartphones in recent years from different manufacturers tailored for specific users in specific markets but what the Smartisan R1 is out to achieve is just completely different and extraordinary.
Smartisan R1, for a start is not just your everyday device - it's a record-breaking flagship smartphone. The device offers so much power, in terms of specs and an outrageous never-before-seen 1TB internal storage... which is its key selling point.
The R1 can easily qualify as a complete package. In terms of build, the device packs a grade 7 aluminum frame and 3D glass back, while the front panel features a 6.17-inch pressure-sensitive display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The display has an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 and a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels.
The Smartisan R1 comes in 4 models when it comes to RAM and storage. The most expensive is the 8GB RAM and 1TB UFS 2.1 storage configuration. Then there are the 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB ones, that're all powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset.
The device has a small notch on the front that accommodates the 24MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture along with the earpiece. On the back side are 12MP Sony IMX363 with f/1.8 aperture aided by 4-axis OIS and a 20MP IMX350 unit with f/1.75 lens.
A 3,600 mAh battery unit is fitted in the Smartisan R1 and it supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+. You even get the Quick Charge 4+ charger included in the retail box.
The device will be available in Pure White and Carbon Black. Below are the models and prices they will cost.

- 6GB RAM + 128GB - CNY3,999 ($627) (around N230,000)
- 8GB RAM + 128GB - CNY4,499 ($705) (around N260,000)
- 8GB RAM + 1TB - CNY8,848 ($1388) (around N504,000)
