Lenovo might just be the pioneer of the first true 'all screen' smartphone after the Vice President of Lenovo, Chang Cheng teased a new phone on China's Weibo social network.

The posted sketch reveals a device that's nothing but a screen framed by an ultra-thin bezel, dubbed Lenovo L5 which the company claims has a screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent. Cheng also says the Z5 will include four technological breakthroughs including 18 patented technologies. This sketch follows an earlier release of a partial image of the so-called Lenovo L5.

While this is something completely mesmerizing, it remains to see how Lenovo plans to execute the presumed front-facing camera. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 was close to such feat with its 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, but the bottom bezels had to be kept to accommodate the front-facing camera.

Apple iPhone X was also almost an all-screen phone if not for the infamous notch which surprisingly became a trend for Android smartphone makers in 2018. Vivo had to adopt a pop-up selfie camera on the Vivo Apex concept to trim the bezels but their is also a bottom bezel to hide the OLED display controller.

The Lenovo L5, if actualized will be a huge boost for Lenovo and it might just be what the company needs to wave off competitions from local manufactures like Xiaomi, Vivo, Huawei and Oppo and catch the attention of teeming customers outside the Chinese market.

What do you think of Lenovo's concept? Let's know in the comments.
