The new feature improves the functionality and multitasking aspect of the app. Picture-in-picture (PiP) is a new feature which allows you to receive or make video calls with your friends and loved ones while also replying to text messages. You will be able to resize and move the 'PiP' window around the screen. It can also be on the display even while you are in another app so you don't miss out on that important call.

Whatsapp has seen some features removed and new ones added over the past few months and the list just continues to grow. We have seen the addition of the popular Snapchat like 'Stories' status feature added which also cuts across its sister companies, Facebook and Instagram. Though users expressed their disatisfaction about the removal of the text status, so the company brought it back.

Whatsapp also added photo albums and filters, and it is even working on a feature that will allow you share any type of file and search for emojis.
Whatsapp is also testing some new tools for business, which will help connect business owners to their customers via the platform. Also on the app now is a verified account for business owners which adds a green badge next to the name of the account owner.
