The Itel A51 is an affordable smartphone with mid-ranged specs from the Chinese phone vendor. It comes with a larger display and more storage space compared to its successor – Itel A31. Itel A31, however, comes with an updated OS and a bigger battery unit.

Design & Display
The Itel A51 comes in a body made of metal with sides that have minimal curvature. The cover on the back has a patterned design which gives it a sleek look. The phablet comes in four colour variants; Champagne Gold, Bright Black and Carbon Blue. Itel A51 sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display (720 by 1280) with a decent pixel density of 267ppi.
Camera, Performance & Storage
On the back of the Itel A51 is a single 5 megapixel shooter that is backed with an LED flash for better image quality in low light situations. The sensor comes with features and modes like autofocus, geo-tagging and phase detection. You get a 2 megapixel sensor with LED flash on the Itel A51, for selfies and 'wefies'.
Itel A51 runs on a Mediatek chipset with a cortex A7 quad-core processor, that is clocked at 1.3GHz and backed with 1GB of RAM. Expect smooth running of apps, so long you don't run too many at once.
The phablet comes with Android 6.1 Marshmallow pre-installed. Itel A51 parades a 16 GB internal storage which you can boost with a 32GB SD card if you desire more storage space.
Battery & Other features
The Itel A51 gets its power from a 2700 mAh battery which is a bit of a drawback considering the large display it features. Its successor, the Itel A31 comes with a slightly larger 3000mAh battery unit. Another drawback would be the lack of 4G LTE on this device.
Itel A51 supports dual SIM and ships with other connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro USB 2.0.

Alternative Smartphones to Itel A51
A good alternative will be the Itel A31, with its newer OS (Android 7.0 Nougat), better camera and a bigger battery. It also comes with a smaller display which means you should get more longevity while using the phone. Itel S31 is also a good option.
