iPhone 8 to reportedly cost $999 at launch!
You heard that right!.. A thousand dollars!😯
A report by New York Times, yesterday, revealed that Apple's upcoming iPhone 8, which has been rumoured to feature a near bezel-less, all-screen display, will launch with a hefty price tag of $999, which is around N365,000 (at an exchange rate of $1 = N365), compared to the company's current generation of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus which debuted with a price tag of $649 and $769, respectively.
Apple will be hosting an event next month, where it the company will be unveiling the rumoured all-screen, near bezel-less iPhone 8 and another iPhone which will look similar to the current generation iPhone7 but with better specs overall. The smartphones have also been tipped to have 'infared facial recognition unlock' and a 'depth-sensing camera optic.'
Apple is also expected to release a slew of different products at the event, one of which is a 4G LTE enabled version of Apple Watch.
However, other smartphone manufacturers, like Samsung have also placed heavy price tags on their latest phones. The Samsung Galaxy Note8, which was unveiled on Wednesday, starts at $930, while the Galaxy S8 starts at $725.
