Android phones certified by Google to get 'Google Play Protect' Logo on the pack
Google wants to make sure that you are buying the right Android phone by adding a certification branding to the pack.
The company, in a post announced that it will soon be adding the Google Play Protect logo directly on the packaging of Android devices, which will certainly make it easier for you to differentiate between a certified phone and one that is not certified.
Apparently, there are certified Android devices; ones that come preinstalled with Google apps (including the Play Store), while there are uncertified ones without Google apps preinstalled.
'Google Play Protect' is part of Google’s requirements for a certified Android device, and it includes things like automatic virus scanning and support Google’s Find My Device feature.
Most major smartphone manufacturers like Samsung or LG obviously have Google certification already, but if you’re in the market to buy a phone from a less well known company, checking out the box for that green shield could save you a lot of trouble in the long run.
Google also recently unveiled its newest OS, Android 8.0 Oreo which will succeed the present Android 7.0 Nougat.
