Mediatek is a Chinese company that is well known for manufacturing chipsets ranging from entry-level to high-end chipsets, like the Helio X30. This time, the company has added a new chipset to its budding portfolio of entry-level chipsets, the MT6739.
The launch took place at the 2017 India Mobile Congress. The new MT6739 SoC comes with quad-core CPU and supports two main cameras, dual VoLTE and 18:9 ratio screens.

Mediatek's new processor has four Cortex-A53 cores and operates at up to 1.5 GHz. It will support screen resolution limited to 1440x720 pixels - 720p in 18:9 ratio. The modem is LTE Cat.4, and dual SIMS are supported. Mediatek also introduced the mid-ranged Helio P23 SoC.

- The MT6739 is arriving as an update to the MT6735, and will power smartphones by the end of 2017.
