Google turns 19 today!! See 19 cool things you can do with the search engine




Google first came into existence back in 1997. The tech company, co-founded by Larry Page was first named after a number known as "googol".

Fast forward to 2017, Google has become one of the largest and most successful tech companies in the world. And according to Google, it is currently serving over 4.5 billion users in 160 countries worldwide and it speaks 123 languages.

With today being a day of celebration at Mountain View, Google has lined up 19 cool surprises available through a spinning wheel and a new Easter egg.


When you google “google birthday surprise spinner”, you’ll get a spinning wheel like the one on “The Price is Right”. Spinning it, you get plenty of surprises, including games like tic-tac-toe, Solitaire, a tour around the Galapagos islands or Earth Day quiz.

The Easter egg is also intriguing. When you enter “snake” into the search bar, you’ll get the Snake game before any suggestions, results, and images. Playing the game is easy both on desktop and mobile.

The company also recently acquired a part of HTC smartphone. A deal which will allow Google access to some of HTC's intellectual documents as well as employees. The companies upcoming Android smartphones, the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are also around the corner, with a launch date slated for October 4.
